Year 2020 is a special year for Hong Kong Construction Association as it marks our 100th Anniversary. As part of our Celebration, the Association is preparing to publish "Built Over The Century – HKCA 100th Anniversary" to showcase a collection of 100 Members’ projects over the past century that shaped Hong Kong the way it is today.
“Built Over The Century” Photo Marathon (Photo Marathon), as part of our celebratory campaign, is a customised mobile app designed to feature the 100 projects and encourage members of the public to explore them.
From now until 13th December, 2020, you can sign up to join the Photo Marathon individually or form teams with a maximum of four people.
You can participate in the campaign if you are 18 or above, an HKID cardholder and currently reside in Hong Kong.
You need to download the “Built Over The Century” Photo Marathon mobile app on any phone that is compatible with iOS 11 or above, or Android OS version 6.0 or above.
It can be both, but only a maximum of four people is allowed in each team. Contestants must register in the Photo Marathon mobile app, then sign up to join the Photo Marathon. Each person can participate either as individual or team contestant but not both. More than one participant quoting a team code will automatically form a team.
Upon successfully signing-up for the first time, contestants will receive a team code in the confirmation email sent to them. They can invite at most three people (family, friends, colleagues etc.) to join their Photo Marathon team by sharing the team code with them. If an invited person is interested in joining the team, he/she will need to register on the mobile app, then sign up for the Photo Marathon and fill in the team code. The system will then automatically form the team. Each team can have a maximum of four people. Each person can participate either as individual or team contestant but not both. More than one participant quoting a team code will automatically form a team. After forming a team, teammates can choose to travel to projects separately and take pictures. Each of the team member must be responsible for his/her photo submission. Each team can only submit a maximum of three photos for each project. Once the photos are submitted, they cannot be deleted or edited.
Individuals or teams can either pursue taking photos of all the required projects in the shortest time to win the Challenge 100 award, or pursue capturing the finest aesthetic quality photos to win the Photography Award. Alternatively they can pursue both.
It’s not a must. However, if you or your team cannot take and submit photos for all the required projects within the activity period, the chance of winning Challenge 100 will be lower.
First download the Photo Marathon mobile app, and then register on it. You do not need to sign up for the contest. Once you are logged in, you can view the photos and cast your votes.
Every registered user of the mobile app has a maximum of 10 votes for the photos in the activity. Once you vote, you cannot change your vote. Therefore, a bookmark function has been set up for you to save your favorite images, and decide where your final vote should go before you make a confirmation.
